About

I look at Indian listed companies the way an auditor looks at a balance sheet that doesn't quite add up.

I'm a CPA Australia-qualified accountant who builds financial-analysis software for a living — a platform for options risk analytics in the Indian F&O markets, a forensic earnings-quality engine for Indian equities, and an audit compliance platform used by SMSF auditors in Australia to manage the audit workflow end to end. Between the audit side and the forensic side, I spend most of my working life either checking numbers for compliance or checking them for the opposite reason — because something doesn't look right.

This blog is where that scrutiny turns into writing. Expect deep dives into accounting red flags, earnings quality, related-party structures, and the gap between what a company's results say and what they mean. The financial statement concepts thought to convey redemptive clarification, is vulnerable to clever, calculated schemes designed to manipulate the perceptions of investors and creditors. Some posts will walk through a specific company or filing; others will look at patterns across sectors or explain a forensic technique in plain language.

If you've ever read an annual report and felt something didn't sit right — this is for you.
